If you own a DJI RC Pro 2, you may have run into a frustrating bug where, after rebooting, the screen repeatedly flashes black and reloads the UI. The toolbar at the top tries to load, then immediately crashes, causing an endless loop. Apps keep reloading, and the interface becomes nearly unusable.
Unfortunately, DJI hasn’t acknowledged or fixed this issue yet. Based on testing, it appears to be a firmware problem.
How the Issue Presents
- Happens after every reboot
- The screen alternates between black and the app UI
- Toolbar keeps trying (and failing) to load
- Apps reload repeatedly, making navigation very difficult
- Occurs until you manually reset app settings
Temporary Workaround
While there’s no permanent fix yet, you can temporarily stop the flashing until your next restart by resetting the app settings:
- Quickly press the back button twice to exit to the settings menu.
- This can be tricky as the UI keeps flashing and moving.
- Navigate to:
Settings → System → Reset → Reset App Settings - Confirm the reset.
This will stabilise the UI and stop the constant reloads — until the next reboot.
Why This Happens
It appears to be a firmware-level issue affecting the way the toolbar and app processes initialise after startup. Something in the boot sequence causes the UI to crash and reload in a loop. Until DJI pushes a firmware update, this bug will persist.
Final Thoughts
DJI has a reputation for releasing products with incomplete features and lingering bugs, often taking months to resolve them. The RC Pro 2 is no exception. While the workaround above will get you flying again, it’s worth raising a support ticket so DJI is aware of the issue and (hopefully) prioritises a fix in a future firmware update.
